Working at the intersection of commercial strategy and human performance; helping organisations and leaders grow.
Since 2004, Chris has coached across sectors as varied as financial services, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, trades, technology, legal, FMCG distribution and many more.
He works directly with owners, directors and the management teams underneath them, not just the person at the top.
The name comes from a simple idea: the things we want most sit just one step outside our comfort zone.
The journey began early in Chris's career, working among seasoned professionals who all seemed resigned to performing the same duties repeatedly, with no sense of connection to the organisation's overall aims. This pattern was repeated across multiple business units; the disconnection and resignation palpable.
From his seat at the senior leadership table, Chris realised the disengagement stemmed directly from a lack of direction and self-awareness at the top.
So began a four-year investigation: talking to business owners around Australia, understanding the importance of connecting the head and heart of teams, and reflecting that in every aspect of the organisation. Most importantly, working out why things get stale and how to re-energise a team.
The coaching philosophy follows from it: the answers are often already in the room. Chris gets the ideas, thoughts and dreams out of the people who already have them, faster than they'd get there alone. And where knowledge or insight needs a nudge, he brings 30 years of commercial experience that cuts through noise and informs decision-making.
